Digital Millennium Copyright Act

It is our policy to respond quickly to notices of alleged infringement to comply with the United States Copyright statutes and other applicable intellectual property laws. Our response may include removing or disabling access to material claimed to be the subject of infringing activity. If we remove or disable access to comply with the United States Copyright Act, we will make a good-faith attempt to contact the owner or administrator of each affected site so that they may make a counter-notification pursuant to Section 512 of the United States Copyright Act. It is our policy to document all notices of alleged infringement.

To file a notice of infringement, you must provide a written communication that sets forth the items specified below. If you are not sure whether certain material of yours is protected by copyright laws, contact an attorney. The following information needs to be provided:

  1. Identify the copyrighted work which you believe has been infringed, inclusive of copyright registration number and a copy of the usage on the website.
  2. Describe the material that is infringing upon the copyrighted work listed in number 1 above.
  3. Provide contact information in order to respond to your notification.
  4. Identify any web pages as well as the owner/administrator of the web page that contains infringing material.
  5. Include the following statement: "I have a good-faith belief that use of the copyrighted materials described above on the allegedly infringing web pages is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
  6. Include the following statement: "I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed."
  7. Execute the notification.

  9. If the owner of material that has been removed from our site pursuant to a notification files a counter-notification, we may reinstate the material in question.
